CAVE DE RIBEAUVILLE

Alsace, France

Cave de Ribeauvillé is a historic and highly respected winery located in the picturesque village of Ribeauvillé, along the renowned Alsace Wine Route. Founded in 1895, it holds the distinction of being the oldest wine cooperative in France, established by 44 local winegrowing families who united in the spirit of mutual aid and resilience following the Franco-Prussian War. Today, remarkably, 41 of those founding families remain actively involved, continuing a legacy of craftsmanship and shared passion that spans more than 128 years.

The winery manages 100% estate-grown, hand-harvested vineyards spread across exceptional terroirs, including parcels in Grand Cru sites such as Geisberg, Osterberg, Kirchberg, Schoenenbourg, and Altenberg de Bergheim. The diversity of soils and microclimates is reflected in their expressive and beautifully balanced wines.

Cave de Ribeauvillé is known for producing classic Alsace varietals—crisp, mineral-driven Riesling, aromatic and spicy Gewurztraminer, fresh and vibrant Sylvaner, rich and textured Pinot Gris, and elegant, fruit-forward Pinot Noir. Their wines are crafted with minimal intervention to reflect the character of the land, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, tradition, and precision winemaking.

As one of the most quality-focused cooperatives in Europe, Cave de Ribeauvillé offers exceptional value and consistency across its range. These are wines born from deep roots, both in the soil and in the families who tend it—wines with a story, a sense of place, and a legacy worth discovering.
