LA FIORITA
Brunello di Montalcino, Italy
From its foundation in the early nineties, La Fiorita Estate has sought to perfect the longevity and aromatic complexity of its Brunello to illustrate the harmony between the diverse terroirs, climate and the Sangiovese grape- the Star of Montalcino.
Since her arrival in 2011, Natalie Oliveros has moved the estate to being organic. Together with her business partner Louis Camilleri they acquired additional vineyards and built a Cantina combining sharp architecture with the proper tools to vinify and age Brunello.
This has a rich and aromatic nose of hazelnuts, poached plums, orange peel, spearmint and hot chocolate. Full-bodied, with broad and velvety tannins that spread across the palate. Rich and warm, but balanced. The wine maintains a fresh, mid-weight texture with silky tannins. RP 91 JS 93
This classic Brunello that develops beautiful floral notes in the glass. Red berries smashed in leather give this a unique complexity. Drinking amazing at the moment and a special release from the winery.

A selection of grapes from a single vineyard. Not made each year, this is a special wine with silky tannins and soft red and dark fruit, leather and ideal for roasted or grilled meats. The minimum required of ageing time is 6 years before release. La Fiorita waits a bit longer, and this will drink well now or over the next decade of two.

This has sophisticated aromas of fresh and dried blackberries, lavender, cloves and porcini mushrooms. It’s full-bodied with such richness to the fruit and a deep center palate. Firm, ultra fine tannins with dried-flower and spice character. Great length, too.

Lifted, spicy nose shows pepperoncino freshness, after it opens up, it leads to peonies floral intensity with black and huckleberry. The palate has soft elegant, peppery structure with nice savouriness of cherry and raspberry fruit. Well crafted, balanced with the right acidity potential for aging.

A beautiful Brunello here that shows just how mature La Fiorita has become. A winner from all critics. This is a stunner, full of red fruit, smashed fruit and leather mixed with hints of balsamic.

This is a genuine expression of Sangiovese coming from the estate’s vineyards. The composed blends of these diverse extractions brings a delicate complexity. Aged two years in large botte, then two more in the bottle before being released, this is the DNA behind La Fiorita.

This is a stunner right now and drinking perfectly. Not made each year, this is a special wine with silky tannins and soft red and dark fruit, leather and ideal for roasted or grilled meats. Will go for decades to come.

Critics have called this wine one of the most stylistically typical Brunellos of the vintage. This is a stunner, full of red fruit, smashed fruit and leather mixed with hints of balsamic.
RP 95, JS 94
This is a great wine, fresh and perfect for food. Bright red fruit, vanilla and soft tannins make for a great Brunello that is ideal for consuming now.

This wine is a baby Brunello. It expresses a great introduction to Sangiovese from Montalcino and La Fiorita. Robust, with hints of balsamic vinegar, charred meat and stewed red fruit, it is aged 20 months before release. It is a wine of balance.
