La Roncaia was founded in 1998 when the Fantinel family acquired the winery, located in Friuli Colli Orientali, to create a boutique winery able to produce top-quality wines. The philosophy of La Roncaia is to express the uniqueness of Colli Orientali del Friuli terroir, always aiming for the best. The passionate team is guided by the young and talented winemaker, Gabriele Tami, who has received numerous awards and acknowledgements, including the title “Wine Master.” This title was given when La Roncaia was named as one of the top 100 wineries in the world by The Drinks Business in 2020.
La Roncaia vineyards are highly selected hectares nurtured by a passionate and loving team who cherish this “crown jewel” of the Fantinel family.
Lively with pleasant soft tannins and vibrant freshness and great drinkability. The structure is balanced by warm red and dark fruit and supported by a solid structure, making this Cabernet Franc a delightful wine in youth, but will age gracefully. Full of an herbaceous side and earthy scents. Fruity sensations are reminiscent of black cherries and wild blackberries that blend with cherry notes and spice.
Deep garnet red with ruby glints. Intense, complex, with earth scents recalling wild flowers and wild berries, spicy and toasted fragrances, up to ethereal perfumes. On the palate, this wine is warm with velvety and soft tannins; a wine with a great body, intensity and tasting persistence. 14.5% ABV
Vivid straw yellow, with coppery tinges. Complex fruity fragrances, mixing tropical sensations with delicate spicy notes. A full and creamy body finishing with a refined minerality and a powerful, long-lasting aromaticness.
Sauvignon Blanc and Picolit. Deep straw-yellow. A heady smell joining Sauvignon elegant aromaticness and Picolit fruit complex richness; green scents, perfumes of wild flowers and white pulp fruits, such as peach, merge in a fascinating fragrance. Freshness and minerality combine with a good smoothness, in a body showing harmony, big depth and persistence. 13.5% ABV
Ruby red with garnet tinges. This wine is a multi-layered aromatic set, merging typically herbaceous scents and intense perfumes of red berries, in a fine, clean and elegant complexity. On the palate it is structurally balanced, warm, smooth, appropriately tannic; La Roncaia Fusco is an engrossing and long-lasting wine. 14.5% ABV
Deep straw yellow, with gold glints. Redolent of wild-flowers, hay and almond. This wine is smooth, well-balanced; the palate reflects the nose. The complex multi-layered finish is typical of the Tocai Friulano grape. 13% ABV
